about

HEY HEY HEY HEY

This is a selection of over 30 songs recorded somewhere in the mid/late 00’s. I don’t remember when, exactly. I think we spent almost 3 years recording them. Basic tracks. Bits and pieces. Vocals. Guitar solos. In a small rehearsal space in Noordwijkerhout. A former cold store. It could get pretty cold, I remember. Almost everything was written, played and sung by Mark van Rijnberk, probably. Jan Schenk must have recorded and mixed it all. I’m pretty sure Naomi van der Ven and Jan did most of the backing vocals. Maybe Davy van der Putten played some bass guitar. Maybe not. Frans Raphet Meeng played some of the guitar solos, yeah. Or maybe that was Mark, too. I might have played drums but I don’t remember. Most lyrics were written by me, I think. In a haze, in a daze. Some written by Mark? I have vague memories of Frans and me recording guitar and drums over Mark’s Fruity Loops track for ‘Frenzy’. Doing the boys choir of ‘Anger fits like gloves’. Yeah yeah yeah yeah. I have one very clear memory of recording the accordion on ‘Ordinary Day’ which I’m still trying to forget. Ordinary days. Golden days. I don’t remember.
