Well I never! Sweet Release of Death, fresh from tasting Katzwijm beer and mountains of famer's fayre courtesy of M'Lud Corno Zwetsloot, have turned up with a new record that is set to sock it to us in the coming month.The band have found a new angle on that cheese-grating, blackboard scraping, guitar sound sound they used to bludgeon us with. Caliban and Arial - contrary to all expectations - hang out righteously on that blasted rock, and somehow make a fist of capturing those sweet airs. Yowzah! Something's happened to them; fresher, snappier, more colourful... is it all down to their residence in that seat of High Magicke that we know as Next To Jaap Studio? Or have the band merely revealed a new aspect that's laid dormant all this while? Colours fly and Catherine wheels indeed!
