Ah Albion! What cosmic off-cuts emanate from your soft undulating rock formations? What's in the water? Is the continent really cut off when Facebook goes down? An island where the natives are beset by Richard Bacon and phone ins: an isle FULL of weather reports. In this light Holland seems appealing, a land of dayglo pristine womanhood, simple mantras given out by cross gender police persons and places where you can get fucked off your head in a controlled public environment. The artiste has recently returned to the Home Cunties from NL, and maybe these songs are a love letter to a country from an Englishman whose sexual inhibitions can ONLY have been magnified by staring at the shop assistants at a local thrift chain. We hear the evidence. Do you really care about the cost of underwear? The song Fucking Good Day has a dash of the Dutch about it too;is an idler's anthem, the mantra repeated till both singer and listener are delirious with the possibilities of doing absolutely sack all. Music brought to a sort of maturity care of a dry, languid and caustic humour, and played off the hip:slacker folk turned down by the CBBC. The music is slowly soaked in like a summer's cocktail where someone's put too much Bombay gin in the mix.
